Lord Sun Rules! Welcome to Brilliant Days

Today, August 17 2010, the benevolent Sun enter into Leo and stays there for 30 days. The Sun is at home in Leo. Whenever a planet transits into its own sign, the energies that the planet emits are extravagant. So, this is the time to cull increased vitality in your life for achieving your most important goals.
In Sanskrit, the Sun is called Surya – the life-giver and time-giver. In the Zodiac, he is the Lord of Leo. He stays one month in each Rasi and takes 365 days or 12 months to complete a round of Rasis. “Sunday” is considered the day of the Sun. Worshiping Surya on Sundays is meant to bring in manifold benefits to the worshipper. Surya has two wives, Sanjana and Chhaya. After her marriage, the first wife, Chhaya, (or “Shadow”) found that she could not bear the power of her husband’s overpowering rays. She therefore, made an image of her own, imparted life to it and left it with Surya the Sun God.

Sanjana, Surya’s loyal wife prevails. Sanjana is a metaphor for the peaceful radical warrior. The Sanskrit meaning of Sanjana is “harmony”, or one who is not in competition with her Lord Sun. She compliments her powerful spouse by being stoic, warm and nurturing. Sanjana represents the one who is extremely reliable and but she has one weakness. She cannot resist reaching out to those who are hurting or in need of help, even when she recognizes her response may be misconstrued. She has the Shakti for creating harmony in her surroundings. Unfortunately, this can sometimes lead to her being taken advantage of. At this auspicious juncture of time, the moral of this story is about seizing the progressive movement of the day and contributing to a more harmonious future. This most ancient tale is also about not getting on the cremation pyre prematurely. Finish what needs to be done, knowing that courage, and strength is the imperative characteristic of the day. The wise understands that we cannot dictate the results of that which is meant to be, or not to be: Only God’s Grace configures the way. I move on toward my own destiny with these thoughts in mind. OM
